Crispy Tender Chicken

Fried chicken is a dish consisting of chicken pieces coated in a seasoned batter and deep-fried. The breading adds a crisp coating to the outside of the chicken and keeps the meat juicy.


Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp White Pepper Powder

  • 1 tbsp Garam Masala Powder

  • 1 tbsp Black Pepper Powder

  • 1 tbsp Red Chilli Powder

  • 1 tbsp Garlic Powder

  • 2 tbsp Salt

  • 1 tbsp Onion Powder

  • 2 Eggs

  • 3 Cups Plain Flour

  • 1 Glass Soda Water

  • 2 Litre Oil

  • 2 KG Chicken Pieces

Get your bowl of chicken and add the salt. After adding the salt, mix your chicken bowl and leave it for about 20 minutes.


Preparing the Powder for Chicken Pieces


In an empty bowl, add your flour as well as the onion powder. Also, add in the garam masala powder and the garlic powder. Let's also add in the salt, white pepper powder and the black pepper powder. Let's also add in the red chilli powder. Once done, let's mix the entire bowl making sure that it is all well mixed. After mixing, leave the bowl to the side for later.


Preparing the Paste for Chicken Pieces


In an empty bowl, add some flour as well as the eggs. Using a spoon, mix the flour and the eggs. In the bowl, add in the soda water. Make sure to add only a little bit of soda water at a time while mixing to ensure that you do not add too much.


Coat the Chicken with the Paste and the Powder


First, get one of your chicken pieces and coat it using the chicken paste from earlier. Once it has been coated, place the same chicken pice in the chicken powder bowl. Repeat this about twice until. Each chicken piece should be coated in the paste and then in the powder, in this order twice.


Frying the Chicken


Place an empty cooking pot on your cooker and pour in about 1 lite of oil. Allow the oil to heat up for about 20 minutes. We will need to wait for the oil to gentle bubble before we can put the chicken in.


Once the oil is bubbling, let's start to put in each of our chicken pieces. Once you put in a chicken piece, do not touch it for the first 5 minutes. This is to give the chicken enough time to fully cook on the inside.


After 5 minutes, start to flip the chicken. Make sure to be very careful here of oil splashback. Once flipped, leave the chicken for a further 5 minutes.


Once you have flipped the second for a second time, leave all chicken pieces in the cooking pot for a further 2 minutes.


Take your chicken out and put it on a plate and let it cool down for about 1-2 minutes. Your chicken should now be ready to serve. To ensure that your chicken is fully cooked, tear off a little bit of the chicken and the inside should be a light grey colour.
