Double Layered Chocolate Cake

This is a rich, moist, dense Double Chocolate Layered Cake that is covered in fudge-like frosting, very mouth-watering. This is a special type of cake to bake on very special occasions.


Ingredients

  • 3 cups flour

  • 3 cups of sugar

  • 1.5 cups cocoa powder

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 1.5 tsp baking powder

  • 1.5 tsp salt

  • 4 eggs

  • 1.5 cups buttermilk

  • 1.5 cups hot water

  • 1.5 cups vegetable oil

  • 8oz cream cheese

  • 1.5 cups softened butter

  • 1.5 cocoa powder

  • 2 tsp milk

  • 8 cups powdered sugar

Cake Layers


To prepared out a two-layered cake, we will need to prepare two pans in which we will make our cake layer. If you do not have tow pans then you can prepare using just one pan at a time.


You will first butter the bottom of our pan using soft butter than then base the pan using cocoa powder.


Let's prepare our batter. Add your flour and sugar to a bowl. Also, add your cocoa powder and baking soda. Also, add your baking powder and salt. Once added we will need to mix it using a whisk. Try to mix it until you get a very rich and soft brown colour.


With the powders mix, we will now add our wet ingredients. Let's add the eggs and the buttermilk. We will then add our hot water. Also, add in the vegetable oil. Next, using a hand mixer mix the batter until the flour disappears and is not visible. Keep mixing until you get a thick texture which should look very brown rich.


With your batter now ready, pour about 4-5 cups worth into each pan. Remember that if you only have one pan then simply repeat this after one layer is complete.


Once your pan is ready, put it in the oven for 30 minutes at 180 degrees. After it's finished, place the layer of cake on a wire rack for about 10 minutes to cool down. Repeat this for as many layers as you would like.


Frosting


Once your layers are done, it now turns to make our frosting. In an empty bowl, add your cream cheese and soft butter. Now let's add our cocoa powder and using a hand mixer to mix the content until it all looks very fluffy.


Once fluffy, add some milk and powder sugar. Keep adding up to 8 cups of powdered sugar until the frosting looks thick.


Once thick, add the frosting to each layer of your cake. Then place each layer of cake on top of each other and fill in any gaps around the cake with frosting.

The Chocolate cake has a number of benefits. The consumption of chocolate lowers the risk of strokes as it contains minerals like selenium, potassium and zinc. When using Dark Chocolate, it can reduce the damage to our skin from the sun due to its flavonol content.


Research also suggests that eating Chocolate cake in pregnancy can reduce levels of stress.


Consuming chocolate is also thought to be able to improve your memory. Chocolate has methamphetamine. This chemical is naturally produced by our brain and empowers a person with the feeling of falling in love.
